KCB Group CEO Delivers Lecture of Opportunity to Course 28/2025–2026 Participants at NDC

The Chief Executive Officer of KCB Group, Paul Russo, today delivered a Lecture of Opportunity to participants of Course 28/2025–2026 at the National Defence College (NDC), where he highlighted the critical role of the private sector in nation building, economic transformation and regional integration.

In his lecture, Mr Russo underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between government institutions and the private sector in driving national development, strengthening economic resilience and fostering sustainable growth. He noted that in an increasingly interconnected global environment, strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors are essential in addressing emerging economic and security challenges.

The KCB Group CEO further emphasized the significance of economic diplomacy in enhancing regional cooperation, attracting investment and expanding cross-border trade opportunities. He observed that financial institutions and private enterprises play a pivotal role in supporting government initiatives aimed at deepening regional integration and positioning the country competitively within the global economy.

Drawing from his extensive experience in banking and corporate leadership, Mr Russo shared practical insights and case studies that enriched participants’ understanding of strategic economic partnerships and contemporary global financial trends. He also addressed the prevailing national economic and financial environment, outlining both the opportunities and challenges shaping the current economic landscape. He stressed the importance of innovation, sound leadership and adaptability in navigating the evolving global market.

The lecture provided participants with a deeper appreciation of the interrelationship between economic development, governance, diplomacy and national security, thereby enhancing their strategic understanding of contemporary regional and global dynamics.

Mr Russo was received by the Commandant of the College, Lt Gen Juma Mwinyikai, alongside Senior Directing Staff, who welcomed him to the institution and commended the importance of continued engagement between national security institutions and the private sector in shaping strategic leadership and advancing national development discourse.

NDC is a premier and credible security institution mandated to prepare leadership at strategic leadership positions Nationally and for allied countries. Current cohort consists of participants from 16 allied counties from Africa and Asia.
