The Chief Justice Delivered a Lecture of Opportunity at National Defence College, Karen on January 23, 2024, the Chief Justice and the President of the Supreme Court, Honourable Justice Martha Koome delivered a Lecture of Opportunity entitled Socio-Political Governance, National Development and Security to Participants of Course 27 – 2024/2025 at National Defence College, Karen. The Honourable Chief Justice was received by the Commandant National Defence College, Lieutenant General Juma Shee Mwinyikai accompanied by the College Deputy Commandant-Civil Ambassador Simon Nabukwesi, and the College Senior Directing Staffs.
In her lecture, the Honourable Chief Justice emphasized on the rule of law, judicial independence, inclusive governance, social cohesion, accountability and anti-corruption efforts as key pillars of development in a country.
In addition, she underpinned the importance of security in enabling governance, development and ultimately the well-being of citizens.
The College current course cohort comprises of sixty six (66) Senior Officers drawn from the Kenya Defence Forces, other Disciplined Forces, and various Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in Kenya and Allied Countries from Africa and Asia.
